The HÜTTO is the ultimate bicycle for your child to develop their riding skills, learning to change gears easily, quickly, and safely.
The 20” wheeled HÜTTO is perfect for a rider that has outgrown their SKØG or who is needing their first geared bike. Like its smaller PINTO, SKØG, and KAPĒL siblings, HÜTTO features Black Mountain Bikes' unique EPOK™ growing technologies. If the rider needs to gain some balancing confidence before pedalling and learning the gears, HÜTTO can also be configured as a balance-bike using the optional balance kit (purchased separately).
HÜTTO starts life as a small lightweight pedal bike, ideal either as a first geared bike or as a natural progression from any single geared bike. HÜTTO gives your child the chance to gain confidence and develop their cycling skills whilst mastering gears for the first time. Then with the unique patented UP:SCALE growing frame design, you can transform the bike into a larger pedal bike as your child grows. This makes the most of the easy rolling 20” wheel size, and means that the bike will fit and last the child for longer.
Black Mountain Bikes' unique EZ:SHIFT shifter combines the practicality and ease of a twist shifter, with the power of a trigger shifter. This unique shifter combined with Shimano’s brand new Tourney short cage derailleur means that HÜTTO has the easiest gear change of any 20” bike. As with all of Black Mountain Bikes' UP:SCALE bikes, your child doesn’t need to ‘grow into it’ – with HÜTTO you ‘dial’ it down to fit them properly from the start, then as they grow and get stronger, the bike frame grows and develops with them. With the UP:RISE stem extender, you can also increase the ‘cockpit’ size of the bike very easily, moving the handlebars up 3cm and forward 2cm.
As standard, the HÜTTO comes with powerful V-brakes and all-purpose Kenda tyres. This model is aimed at children from around 6 years old, fitting those in the 118cm to 134cm height range, or until they are approximately 8.5 years old.
